Recalling A craftsman of Popular Culture Argentina

Throughout our long and vital parabola, we have been checking many of the makers of our daily life (or those who raised at some point in our lives enjoyable moments). Come check reiterate that with the passage of time is lost in oblivion.

Our children in the fifties in the Ensenada de Barragán, we remember that that Spanish dancer Otilia Curbelo, that reciter Bravo, choreographer of the film that local "social", "Chorson" Dival of the heated speeches Elgarrista Rafael.

Discount if every veteran or veteran makes a journey to his childhood, recalled in his small town, your neighborhood, or rural district, to people like those I mentioned. If not one or you are going to dump some support in these "micro-history", all those rich trajectories, which never reached the "consecration" in the media, end up fading into oblivion.

A few years ago, referring to another character very similar to that evoke this time, we referred to a section in his time, was the then widely held American magazine "The Reader's Digest." The section called "My unforgettable character," and was devoted to a person who had impressed the authors of it.

This time, we want to evoke the "fat" Adolfo Ortiz. Of what "fat" is not menoscabante, but everyone called him well in an era in which there was no crime of discrimination.

I met him in action when "fat" when conducted in the Parque Chacabuco the city of Buenos Aires, the Argentine championship Running Free in the spring of 1962. We were teenagers, and why our memories are not as accurate, but those were the championships of the FECSYDA. And over time also learned that they were the initials of the Federation of Social and Cultural amateur sport, we also learned that there was a sort of symbiosis between the "fat" and Fecsyda. As this communication is not passing along the road of life circumstances, it is worth clarifying that the character and the institution, a part of Argentina, which was outlined in the thirties and asomaría fully with the emergence of the phenomenon to life Peronist Argentina . The FECSYDA was founded in 1940, although it would be granted legal status 4 years later. The entity in any way recognized the existence of clubs in the neighborhood, which houses a family of humble workers. These clubs had somehow taken as models to clubs inspired by English immigrants and then imitated by then was known as "wealthy families".

By the time perspective, it is perceived that they were not alien to these clubs, current anarchist and socialist, who had much popular among the poor families especially in large cities in Argentina. This implied conflict situations, such as that practiced athletics clubs where they were associated with "wealthy families", known as the "Land Athletics, athletics and free" that these clubs prohijaban neighborhood. So that championship 1962 edition was one of many Roman numerals, which means that the free consent of the decade of the thirties.

Once, long ago an old athlete told me that the Communists' free athletes. " Well, the "fat" was a man of that era. A Buenos Aires, where "everyone" knew. In fact a euphemism, where all who excel in any activity known. Times were the emergence of the phenomenon of radio, talkies and journalism with its graphic magazines and newspapers with a lot of photographic material. In this exchange between reporters and athletes was growing "fat". Perhaps a more academic research can demonstrate that it has been an athlete, because while I knew him, had a strong predisposition to athletics: A test for this trend was provided when we died in 1973, one of the great athletic heroes of the decade of'30: Roger Ceballos, one of our mentors in sport and in life. We inform you by phone to Ortiz's death and one of the few flowers that arrived in the wake of the organization was the "TEAM", one of the inventions of the "Gordo".

Today the "fat" would be considered a "micro". So are the guys like I said "looks." That was one of apocopation "seeks life." I did not know that none of them made millionaire ...

Said later that Gordo was sports journalist (even had a brother who was a photojournalist).

I believe that one way to chart the way forward that evoke the character was the "Post to Junín Athletic Gigante," which promoted Ortiz in January 1963.

As a broadcast journalist, had a space on Radio Belgrano, which was called "The Club of campeoncitos. Thence clubs promoted activities in relation to the neighborhood FECSYDA. And when organized table, the "sports embassies."

By that trade between the world of celebrity athletes and artistic highlights, one can surmise that the "fat" took away the idea of "sports embassies." For these time had been given the nickname of "scratching", which made a tour of the interior villages of radio theater companies, gaucho type drama, which aired on Radio Porteña, led by Juan Carlos Chiappe Audon or Lopez. "Fachenzo damn," was an icon of that style.

Well, the question that Ortiz, organized the "Posta Athletic at Junín." There we were with our adolescent enthusiasm.

The study of the then Radio Belgrano located in Ayacucho and Posadas, we made a kind of "circus", and after hearing, we Junín swift running, but stopped after a few hundred meters near the Law School. From there take the bus and not stop until General Rodriguez (40 miles later). Figures of the embassy were the Olympic marathon champion of 1932, Juan Carlos Zabala, Armando Pino stretches late in his career after being one of the greatest athletes of substance, overshadowed by the simultaneity of its apogee with the presence of two "giants" in the business as Osvaldo Suarez and Walter Lemos, Ezekiel and the picturesque "byteIT 'e Gráfico" Bustamante, a character that we're the most lovable and the memorandum that we have already long ago. The stop at General Rodriguez Zabala was that I wanted to greet Daniel Musso, auto broker who was very famous at the time of splendor Zabala. Could only do so by telephone. From there we started to run "in post" is a stretch to say every athlete and continue to exit Luján (20 km), where again subirnos the bus, and only stop in Chacabuco curve that is nearly 150 kilometers later.

There we "crossed" the bus company's already existent Red, which came the "Gordo" and his young companion and rellenita. We waved and resume the march. From there, it really started to fall while running in the afternoon and post, while Carlitos Obberti, almost children, are run by cramp in the pavement ...

Upon arrival in Junín, access, go running every group. People thought we had been running in Buenos Aires ... we applauded. and nobody told him otherwise ...

In front of Club Jorge Newbery, a stage in the "fat" to the master of ceremonies (a leader of those) and there were Zabala, and Pino Bustamante, as well as two "glories" of the local athletes: Parchappe and John Fuss ( international hammer thrower). After a dinner with our words evoked the morning and a farewell lunch at the Club, with Guido Brovarone imitating famous radio Cologne "Ariel Delgado."

Before the embassy sport step back through the house to pay homage to a kind of fuss.

We count on that because that was the sort of thing to our "biography." Perhaps only those who still remember to this valley of tears. In October 1996, I ran into the house of Chacabuco Family Stamponi-married to the daughter-Fuss a photo of that event.

The years went by, always saw the "fat" in any of his things, promoted the organization TEAM, which had created it and where to promote an athletic "free." Back in 1971, the municipality of Buenos Aires, organized an athletic test in the streets, walking the fat in the organization and remember that at the stage of arrival, which had succeeded the man who had a seat in the orange block to the arrival , join the event, giving oranges to competitors.

That was the style of "fat." Things simple, concrete steps to be close to the popular sectors.

Every time you spend with the group 71 Avenue Triumvirate and reach the Plaza de Villa Urquiza, before crossing the railway line, comes to mind that Sunday Spring 1962. The "fat" had a scheduled athletic festival. The "other side" of the railway station, which was "Center" Commercial "is developing a foot race in the background. Then we crossed the road and around the square was the career of "middle" (800 meters) and on Avenida Triunvirato is running a race speed of 200 meters. Traders in the area have donated items that were given as prizes. And a neighborhood club providing facilities for clothing, toilets and showers. Something similar again in the crucible of the street club Zaraza. The fat "became" any public space in a sports field. Decades later, in the fields of sport and physical education "that" it will know where it had happened or where he had taken out Ortiz, gave him the name "Sports for All", or "Community Sport" .

And it was during the third president of General Perón, who was the next event. It turns out that the general received in Olivos, a delegation of athletes. When referring to say a few words, began to refer repeatedly to the FECSYDA, as to which entity had promoted between 1943 and 1955, the sport in the neighborhoods. Witnesses to the event, told us that the circumstances of the areas sports officials began to look to each other. Were already imagined what would happen. Just heard the "Gordo" appeared for the then Ministry of Social Welfare, "manga" for FECSYDA entity that Ortiz had helped maintain popular during Prohibition, and he could not deny his "mangazo" watch what he had General memorandum on ...

Of course the "fat", like all simple people of his style, always had problems with paperwork, as with cars that sell a specific group of which I need not elaborate. Well, I had problems with accountability, and that was the last news I had of him.

Sure that each half when veteran or veteran, in his wanderings memory similar to that with great affection and nostalgia, I relate with all our limitations.

Rodolfo Ortiz but I pay my admiration for these socio-cultural as they are known today, with great intuition and a few formalities, gave us many moments of great spiritual joy, therefore, that marked our sensibilities, now several decades in any action, we have a great taste in evoked.
